I have not updated my blog for a while. This has been mainly due to circumstances beyond my control, like laziness. But now I intend to become more regular.
I have made a couple of changes to the site. You may have already noticed the change in the domain name. I have also migrated to Astro in the back-end. So far, I like it much better than Hugo. For instance, Astro templates are a bit similar to React/Vue files. Now I am not a Javascript fan, but I detest Go templates!
I created a theme from scratch for my last blog. This time I was more sensible—I used an existing theme. It goes without saying that I have made a few modifications to cheapen the looks.
The content migration was not without incidents. Even though both Astro and Hugo support Markdown, there are slight differences in syntax. Nothing that a few search and replace commands couldn’t fix, though.
The images are all created by DALL-E, the AI model hosted by bing. I am equally impressed by the results as well as by how easy the process was. I don’t think we can ever go back to the ancient past before generative AI.
Talking about AI, if you are a naturally intelligent being, let me thank you for reading my blog. Hopefully it won’t take 5 more years till the next post.
